Jacaranda Health is seeking a PROMPTS Field Coordinator to coordinate the enrollment of new and expectant mothers into the PROMPTS Program by supporting healthcare workers to collect relevant data from mums and ensure all data fields of enrolled mums on PROMPTS are complete and accurate, so that all women and their families can experience safe childbirth with dignity. The post holder will work closely with health facility staff, district health managers, and the wider JH teams to ensure the PROMPTS program runs smoothly and efficiently in all the implementing regions, districts, and health facilities

About the team


The Jacaranda Health Ghana team is a dedicated, mission-driven group of health professionals working to expand access to maternal health through PROMPTS, a digital health messaging intervention for new and expectant mothers. The team brings together a diverse mix of expertise spanning field program, helpdesk operations, quality assurance, finance, and administration, and has achieved remarkable milestones, including enrolling over 40,000 mothers across two regions in Ghana. Beyond the work itself, the team is known for its strong sense of community and for building meaningful partnerships with the Ghana Health Service to ensure that every woman experiences safe, dignified childbirth through the power of timely, digital health information.


About the role


The PROMPTS Field Coordinator will support the implementation and coordination of the PROMPTS Program across assigned Zones (Regions, Districts, and Health facilities). The role involves coordinating the enrollment of new and expectant mothers into the PROMPTS Program by supporting healthcare workers to collect relevant data and ensuring all required data fields are complete and accurate.

Terms of engagement: One-year contract, renewable

Work authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Ghana. Work permit or visa sponsorship is not available for this position


What You’ll Do:


1. Program Implementation and Operations

  • Actively support the launch and expansion of PROMPTS across all assigned districts and health facilities, ensuring implementation aligns with organizational key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Coordinate day-to-day PROMPTS operations in assigned districts and facilities, including the collation and uploading of enrolment data from facility contact persons.

  • Actively coordinate PROMPTS-related activities, including enrolment, engagement of new and expectant mothers, and evaluation of program interventions.

  • Test and support alternative enrollment methods, including healthcare worker facilitated enrolment, posters, job aids, and the Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) initiative.


2. Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong working relationships with district health teams, health facility managers, and service providers (including private and faith-based facilities) through continuous communication and reporting.

  • Liaise with districts and health facilities to support sustained enrolment and engagement of mothers in the PROMPTS program.

  • Participate in programmatic and organizational meetings (virtual and in-person) to promote coordination, alignment, and organizational cohesiveness.


3. Capacity Building and Training

  • Engage health facilities to identify training needs and coordinate training for health staff (midwives and nurses) on PROMPTS processes, tools, and data submission.

  • Provide ongoing support to facility-based PROMPTS focal persons to strengthen service delivery and data quality.


4. Monitoring, Supervision and Performance Improvement

  • Coordinate supportive supervision activities with districts and health facilities, prioritizing underperforming facilities.

  • Provide tailored, context-specific solutions to improve facility-level performance and PROMPTS implementation.

  • Monitor field activities to identify challenges, opportunities, and best practices, and escalate these with recommended interventions to the PROMPTS Program Manager.


5. Data for Decision-Making and Reporting

  • Prepare and share timely weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports with regional, district, and facility-level stakeholders to support quality improvement and efficient program management.

  • Ensure enrolment data is accurate, complete, and submitted on time to enable effective monitoring and decision-making.


6. Digital Systems and Quality Assurance

  • Monitor the performance of PROMPTS software and digital tools, documenting and communicating suggested improvements to ensure high-quality service delivery.

  • Support data quality assurance processes to ensure reliable information for program tracking and evaluation.


7. Compliance, Governance and Risk Management

  • Ensure all enrolled mothers are registered in full compliance with Ghana’s Data Protection Act (Act 843).

  • Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all program activities.


8. Communication and Coordination

  • Communicate field-level challenges, risks, and emerging opportunities with practical, context-specific recommendations to the PROMPTS Program Manager.

  • Support coordination between field teams, health facilities, and internal Jacaranda Health teams to ensure smooth program execution.


Who you are:

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Information Management, Project Management, or a closely related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in the implementation of public health projects/programs (including fieldwork, supervision, data collection, analysis, monitoring, and evaluation activities).

  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in utilizing digital health/m-Health interventions or tools within the healthcare sector.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Proactive and a team player with excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience using software and tools in project management or public health research. This includes but not limited to Microsoft Office, STATA, R, ODK, REDCap, etc.

  • Ability to withstand demanding targets, work within strict deadlines and multitask effectively

  • Communication and interpersonal relationship building
