About the Team


The Research, Design & Evaluation (RDE) Division houses the Data & Analytics Department, which ensures that Jacaranda Health’s data infrastructure, analytics products, and insights drive programmatic decisions, operational effectiveness, and strategic direction. The team works closely with Product, Tech, Programs, and Research to ensure the organization has reliable, scalable, and actionable data systems that power decision-making across multiple countries and programs. The Data & Analytics Manager will play a critical role in shaping data product strategy, leading analytical workstreams, and positioning Jacaranda as a thought leader in evidence-driven public health transformation.


About the Role 


The Data & Analytics Manager will serve as a bridge between technical teams and programmatic stakeholders, ensuring that data pipelines, dashboards, insights, and analytics tools are high-quality, scalable, and aligned with organizational priorities. The role will lead multiple analytics workstreams, mentor analysts, and represent Jacaranda externally to drive evidence-based strategy and learning.

Reports: 2 Analysts

Preferred start date: February  2026

Terms of Engagement : One year contract, renewable. 


What You’ll Do:


Data Product Development & Management

  • Lead the end-to-end development of dashboards, datasets, analytical tools, and pipelines that serve internal teams and government partners.

  • Translate program needs into technical requirements and clear user stories.Maintain and prioritize a data product roadmap aligned with organizational strategy.Balance short-term outputs with long-term product vision, scalability, and reliability.

Lead Multiple Analytics Workstreams

  • Oversee analytics delivery across PROMPTS, MENTORS, HSS, and other programs.

  • Scope and plan deliverables, define milestones, and manage timelines.Apply agile project management principles to ensure high-quality and timely outputs.

Strengthen Data Infrastructure & Systems

  • Identify gaps in data pipelines and infrastructure; propose and drive improvements.Strengthen data validation, documentation, and governance to ensure accuracy and usability.

  • Collaborate closely with Product and Tech teams to streamline integrations and pipeline performance.

Insight Generation & Data Storytelling

  • Lead strategic analyses to surface trends, risks, and opportunities across programs.Translate insights into decision-ready dashboards, memos, and presentations.

  • Set visual analytics standards to ensure products are clear, intuitive, and impactful.

External Representation & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent Jacaranda Health in data-related forums with county governments, partners, and donors.

  • Contribute insights to proposals, publications, and donor reports.

  • Support thought leadership in data-driven public health systems strengthening.

Team Leadership & Capacity Building

  • Line-manage and mentor analysts, providing coaching on technical and professional development.

  • Foster a culture of documentation, feedback, continuous improvement, and excellence.

  • Lead quality assurance processes across data products and analyses.

Other Duties

  • Undertake any other tasks assigned to support division and organizational objectives.

Who You Are:


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Public Health, Information Systems, or related fields.

  • At least 7+ years in data product management, analytics, or related fields, ideally within health tech, digital health, or the social impact sector.

  • Proficiency in R, Python, STATA, SQL, and data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.

  • Experience designing dashboards with strong UI/UX and using data collection platforms like KoBoToolbox, ODK, and SurveyCTO.
