About the Team



The Research, Design & Evaluation (RDE) Division houses the Data & Analytics Department, which ensures that programmatic decisions, operational effectiveness, and strategic direction are informed by high-quality, timely data. The M&E team works closely with Product, Tech, Programs, and Research to ensure that data is collected, analyzed, and used effectively to improve program delivery and demonstrate impact. The M&E Manager will play a critical role in designing and managing M&E systems, leading analyses, overseeing surveys, and ensuring that data is translated into actionable insights.



About the Role 



The M&E Manager will lead the design, implementation, and oversight of monitoring and evaluation systems across Jacaranda Health’s programs, including PROMPTS, MENTORS, and Health Systems Strengthening workstreams. The role will manage surveys, guide indicator frameworks, develop dashboards, mentor M&E staff, and ensure data is used effectively to drive program improvements and inform government and donor stakeholders.

Reports to: Head of Data & Analytics

Reports: Senior M&E  and  Analysts (2)

Preferred start date: February  2026

Terms of Engagement : One year contract, renewable. 



What You’ll Do:



Lead M&E Strategy and Systems

  • Design, implement, and oversee M&E strategies, logic models, and indicator frameworks across programs.

  • Ensure quality and consistency across all M&E systems and data collection frameworks

  • Lead the rollout and management of data collection tools (KoBo Toolbox, SurveyCTO, ODK) ensuring version control and data integrity.

  • Coordinate closely with Programs, Research, and Tech teams to ensure timely outputs and actionable learnings.


Oversee PROMPTS Biannual Surveys (Kenya & Ghana)

  • Manage all survey phases including planning, enumerator training, data collection, cleaning, analysis, and reporting.

  • Ensure survey protocols, sampling, and QA processes meet internal and global standards.

  • Translate findings into clear recommendations, driving program improvements and sharing learnings with stakeholders.


Lead Analysis & Reporting

  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc analyses of program data to monitor trends and program performance.

  • Develop program scorecards, donor reports, dashboards, and decision briefs for internal and external use.

  • Triangulate multiple data sources to validate results and deepen insights.


Build and Share Insightful Dashboards

  • Design, maintain, and improve integrated dashboards that visualize KPIs and guide decision-making.

  • Ensure dashboards are intuitive, visually impactful, and actionable.

  • Train program staff and partners to interpret and utilize dashboards effectively.


Drive Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain data quality through robust QA processes, cleaning routines, and documentation.

  • Facilitate data-use sessions with field and leadership teams to generate insights and drive course correction.

  • Maintain a learning agenda capturing key performance gaps and improvement priorities.


External Representation & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a key communicator of M&E findings to county leadership, government, and partners.

  • Contribute analytics to funding proposals, reports, and external publications.

  • Support thought leadership in evidence-based public health systems strengthening.


Team Leadership & Capacity Building

  • Line-manage and mentor M&E analysts, providing coaching on technical, strategic, and professional growth.

  • Promote documentation, peer review, and quality assurance practices across the M&E function.

  • Build the capacity of internal teams and local partners to use M&E data effectively.


Other Duties

  • Undertake any other tasks assigned to support division and organizational objectives.


Who You Are:


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or related fields.

  • 5–7+ years of progressive M&E experience, with at least 2 years managing teams or complex projects.

  • Experience engaging government health systems and cross-country stakeholders is an advantage.

  • Expertise in survey design, sampling, indicator frameworks, and M&E systems.

  • Proficiency in STATA, R, Python; familiarity with SQL, PowerBI, or Tableau preferred.
