About the team


The Project Manager will sit within the Global Programs & Product unit and work across Jacaranda’s Innovation teams - Tech, Product, and Data- ensuring seamless coordination and delivery of key digital health projects.

You will collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Data Engineers, Product Managers, Program Teams, and Heads of Departments, ensuring visibility, alignment, and accountability across all technical and programmatic workstreams.



About the role

The Project Manager leads end-to-end delivery of multiple digital innovation projects by structuring workflows, managing dependencies, coordinating cross-functional teams, and maintaining clear delivery roadmaps.

The role requires strong technical fluency and the ability to engage confidently with engineering teams, review technical documentation, and support planning for integration, testing, and deployment activities.

Reports to: Director of Global Programs

Direct Reports: None

Indirect Reports: Project Leads, Workstream Leads

Terms of engagement: One-year contract, renewable

Work authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Kenya. Work permit or visa sponsorship is not available for this position


What You’ll Do:

Project Delivery & Coordination

  • Lead end-to-end project management across Innovation teams, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.

  • Translate high-level goals into detailed project plans with clear tasks, owners, and deadlines.

  • Identify, document, and escalate risks early to avoid delays and disruptions.

  • Oversee task management on GitHub, ensuring high-quality, actionable project tickets.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Provide clear and regular project updates to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Manage expectations with partners and funders; coordinate kickoff calls and ongoing communication.

  • Gather high-level requirements and guide teams in designing solutions aligned to partner and organizational needs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Governance

  • Facilitate effective collaboration between Product, Engineering, Data, and Program teams.

  • Support sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and resource coordination.

  • Ensure structured governance, documentation, and consistent delivery processes.

Who you are:

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Computer Science, Health Informatics, International Development, or a related field. Master’s degree in Public Health or a relevant technical field desirable.

  • Strong proficiency in project management tools (GitHub Projects, Jira, Notion, etc.).

  • Understanding of software delivery lifecycles from requirements to deployment.

  • Familiarity with digital health systems (e.g., OpenMRS, DHIS2) and integrations (APIs, FHIR, HL7).

  • Ability to engage with technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
